Go To Breakfast

This is my morning smoothing in it's natural habitat (aka my desk).

I eat this delicious power-house of flavor probably 3-4 times per week in various forms.

Smoothies are no culinary challenge, but are a great way to pack lots of nutrition into a meal without getting super full.

I often eat this as a snack, either as my second breakfast if I did CrossFit and I'm starving by 10 a.m. or around 4 p.m. (aka the most boring, torturous work hour of the day).

Here is the how-to:

In a blender, add:

1-2 cups non-fat Greek yogurt

1/2 - 1 cup milk, water or juice (Watch the juice as it can really up the sugar content)

1-2 cups berries/fruit (In the summer I'm all about the fresh berries, but switch to frozen when they aren't in season)

Handful of ice cubes (Less if you are using frozen fruit)

1-2 teaspoons honey

Turn on the blender.

Turn off the blender.

Pour into a cup.

Share with the awesome Office Manager, Thu, if you are like me and always make a little to much.

Enjoy!

Faithful Sidekick

Miss Serena, the Great.
Best dog on Earth. (I realize this is subjective)
She is a little miserable today because we have been stuck inside for a couple days, due to my procedure and the rain (someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that it's June in SF). I think we may be equally bored, but she gets to leave with the Urban Paw for a couple of hours.
Jealous.
She has been my faithful couch buddy for a couple of days and only gets up to chase the cat.
I'm sure the cat loves that.

Wish You Were Here

Flying.
This is my postcard to myself today. I've been inside all day and I'm going a little stir crazy. Yesterday was my heart procedure and I am letting myself heal. It shouldn't be a long process, but hopefully this will be a rebirth from my "old lady conditions". Health, like many things, you don't know what you had till its gone. Luckily, mine hasn't gone far away yet.
